Lets get one thing carved in stone right away - Dogs are not hairy fluffy kids.Patience is the number one required quality, therefore. Now bring out other techniques. Praise the dog lavishly. But they don't reason out or get context the way humans do. But a nearly equal number will underestimate the time, skill and elbow grease it takes to do it as it needs to be done - Especially if they are a new dog owner and have bought a high energy breed when they should have gone for a lower energy submissive type. For the slow learner or assertive dog, it may be necessary to use a collar and short leash - two to four feet is best - 'Sit' the dog and kneel down facing him.If the dog backs up do the technique near the couch or a fence where he has nowhere to go. With repetition comes understanding. Don't be harsh, but don't give up easily either. But they can be easily distracted, or fail to associate today's case of 'come' with yesterday's action and subsequent reward.Dog Training - Sit Command - Few behaviors are as fundamentally important as 'sit'.At first the dog will have no idea why it's being praised but it doesn't matter as with repetition the behavior will follow the command. When a dog is 'down' it can't knock over furniture or children. So, here's how NOT to train your dog:- Forget that your dog has a nature unlike yours. Most dogs won't go own the first few times. That way a dog associates the behavior

hi my name is colleen Jiggetts and I recently purchase boer goats and we have tried everything to keep these goats in but they continue to get out please help

== answer 2????? ==Electric fence is the best bet, usually more to keep the guard dogs in than the goats. We use one wire about 12" off the ground. the rest of the fence is wire mesh. Mooresboers 23:54, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

hi what kinda fence do u have?? cause that might be your problem

we use a normal fence, with a thick hedge behind it. We have Pygmy and boer goats. the pygmys can escape through the hedge, but are stopped by a fence. they often rest in that hedge when it is hot. J.armitage 13:40, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
